Professional Licenses for Service Members and Military Spouses

Service members and their spouses can transfer an existing professional license to their current duty location when they move to Alaska on military orders.  The Federal Servicemembers Civil Relief Act (SCRA) effective on March 23, 2025, included language that updated requirements for a license.

Alaska Statute 08.01.063 and Alaska Statute 08.01.064 allows active-duty service members and their spouses to request a temporary license. The professional license programs in Alaska falls under the Department of Commerce, Community and Economic Development.  For more information on the Military Licensing for Active Duty and Military Spouses please visit the Division of Corporations, Business and Professional Licensing.
